Colorado Abandoned Newsletter V17  - Published 4/11/2020

Colorado Abandoned Newsletter V16

Hello & Welcome to
The Colorado Abandoned Newsletter!
V16
Winter is Here!
Bare trees, cold frosty mornings, chopping wood for the stove and heavy coats are now the norm. Canning season, stocking up on roasted green chili, piles of raked leaves, and fresh corn on the cob are now but distant memories. Now that we are in the midst of the holiday season, the turkey is still in danger, gift shopping will be taking place right up to the last minute, and the threat of a major snow event is now very possible. Yes, this is Winter!
We would like to take a moment and wish All Of You - A Most Very Merry Christmas and a Super Happy and Exciting New Year!
Thank You for being a friend of Colorado Abandoned
Welcome New Subscribers!

And Then There is Old Man Winter
"In seed time learn, in harvest teach, in winter enjoy."
William Blake
"If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind? Percy"
Bysshe Shelley
"The problem with winter sports is that - follow me closely here - they generally take place in winter."
Dave Barry
"All sounds are sharper in winter; the air transmits better."
John Burroughs
"I love the scents of winter! For me, it's all about the feeling you get when you smell pumpkin spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, gingerbread and spruce."
Taylor Swift

Fire Engine
Found this old retired fire truck near the highway in Sheridan Lake this past summer/fall. It called out and said "capture my spirit if you can?". A few pictures later, this is what we got.

Vincent has been working part-time for a while now at Cruikshank Realty, Inc. helping them with web-site maintenance and marketing. He is also continuing to build up his photography business (Southeast Colorado Media) and is working with a few other clients on websites, social media programs and Facebook Business pages and thankfully he still gets out occasionally to capture the abandoned.

New Interview Article Published by the Kiowa County Independent
Here is another Beautiful Magazine created by the Wonderful Folks at the Kiowa County Independent. Check out the interview that the talented wordsmith Priscilla Waggoner did with us starting on page 20. There are so many great articles of and about some of the Amazing people in southeast Colorado in this publication. We are VERY honored to be included in this edition.

BANDO FEST 2020 UPDATE - Canceled
Well Dang!
Well it looks like the Bando Festival will not be taking place as we had planned. On the Plus Side, there was great support from the bando community, lots of positive comments on doing this kind of a event and people willing to travel halfway across the country to attend - Thank You All!
We still think this is an Awesome idea and we would hope that someone else would able to pick it up and run with it. If you are so inclined, please feel free to make it happen. We will support you!
